What is what to do when your ring is too big?

Here's what you can do if your ring is too big:

  • Resizing: The most permanent and effective solution is to have your ring professionally resized by a jeweler. They can either cut out a small piece of the ring and solder it back together (making it smaller) or add metal to the band (making it larger if you need to go back later).

  • Ring Guards/Adjusters: These are inexpensive, temporary solutions that fill the gap between your ring and your finger. They come in various materials like plastic, foam, or metal. You can find different types:

    • Plastic ring guards: These wrap around the back of the ring and can be trimmed to size. They're good for everyday wear.
    • Sizing beads: Small metal beads are soldered onto the inside of the ring band to take up space. This is a more subtle option than a full guard.
    • Spring inserts: These are metal springs that compress to fill the gap.
  • Ring Sizing Tape: This is a thin, adhesive tape that you can wrap around the inside of the ring band to make it fit more snugly. It's a very temporary solution, best for occasional wear.

  • Wear it on a different finger: If the ring is only slightly too big, you might be able to wear it comfortably on a different finger.

  • Stacking rings: Wearing another ring alongside the loose ring can help hold it in place.
